Jajpur: Even as the district police are yet to make any headway in the missing case of ‘Pihu’, the two-year-old girl of Madhusudanpur, a similar incident reported from the same district has put the scanner on police administration again.

A four-year-old boy named ‘Chintu’ went missing for last three days while he was playing near his house at Mundasahi under Barchana Police limits in the district.

After the parents of the missing child lodged a complaint at Dhanmandal police outpost in this regard, cops registered a missing case and launched a search operation.

"I had gone to Bhadrak for some works. When I returned, I found that my child was missing. My family members and neighbours have searched everywhere in and outside the village, but to no avail. Later, we lodged a complaint with police," said Rama Jaja, father of Chintu.

Mother of the child, Lily Munda said "Police assured us that they are investigating the case and also asked us to continue our search but there is no breakthrough in the case yet. We have also alerted all our relatives and searched everywhere. But, we have failed to trace him"

"I am living in a state of mental distress. How can I survive without my child? Can a mother spend time after losing her baby? she said with teary eyes.

Police, on the other hand, said that investigation is underway and efforts are on to trace the missing boy, officials said.

It is worth mentioning that the two-year-old girl of Madhusudanpur in the district had gone missing for last four months. Her mother lodged a complaint with police and later met the Jajpur Superintendent of Police to help her trace the daughter.

However, there is no breakthrough in the case even though four months have passed. Police said they are trying their best to locate the child.
