Bhubaneswar: In a bid to ensure proper compliance with COVID-19 norms, Odisha government on Monday announced monetary provision for effective handling and disposal of COVID-19 positive dead bodies.

As per a notification issued by Health and Family Welfare Department, the state government has made a provision of Rs 7,500 for handling and disposal of each COVID positive dead body.

The expenses for the same will be met out of Chief Ministers Relief Fund (CMRF).

Earlier the State government had announced special incentives for doctors, paramedics and class-IV employees engaged in several COVID-19 health facilities.

The doctors engaged in several dedicated COVID hospitals, COVID Health Centres and COVID Care Centres (CCC) will get an incentive of Rs 1,000 per day.
