Nayagarh: At a time when the mysterious kidnapping and murder of five-year-old girl ‘Pari’ in Nayagarh has created shockwaves in Odisha, another girl from the district has reportedly gone missing.

As per reports, the three-year-old girl was last seen playing near her house at Dadhipatna village under Ranpur block in the district on Friday afternoon.

Though the parents of the girl launched a search operation, they failed to trace her. Following the incident, a massive search operation has been launched by local police and personnel of Odisha fire services department to trace the missing girl.

It is pertinent to mention here that the five-year-old girl Pari had also gone missing in similar fashion while playing in front her house at Jadupur village in July this year. Later, Pari’s skeletal remains were found from the backyard of her house.

The incident has kicked off a major political stir in Odisha after Pari’s parents attempted suicide in front of the State Assembly last month.

The couple from Nayagarh district then had accused Minister Arun Sahoo of shielding the prime suspect in the case identified as Babuli Nayak.

The Opposition parties subsequently had tried to corner the State government by pressing for immediate expulsion of Minister Arun Sahoo for his alleged complicity in the case.

Later, the Odisha government had ordered an investigation into the case by Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by senior IPS officer Arun Bothra.
