Odisha: 6 Persons Including 2 Women Killed After Being Hit By A Dumper In Nayagarh

Nayagarh: In a tragic incident, at least six persons including two women were killed after being run over by a speeding dumper near Sharankul area of Nayagarh district on Tuesday.

Five persons were killed on the spot while another person died while undergoing treatment at the hospital, sources said.

The incident occurred when the driver of dumper, coming from Nayagarh side, lost control of the vehicle after hitting a motorcycle. Both the riders were killed on the spot.

Later the dumper ran over four other pedestrians at the Sarankul market.

Following the incident, irate locals staged a demonstration by blocking the main road. Senior officials of Sarankul  and Nayagarh police stations have reached the spot and further investigation in connection with the incident is underway.
