Odisha: 4 Killed, 15 Injured As Tractor Overturns In Mayurbhanj

Baripada: At least four persons lost their lives while 15 others were injured when a tractor carrying them slipped 15 feet below the road and overturned in Mayurbhanj district on Wednesday.

The mishap occurred near Murunia village under Jharpokharia police limits.

According to sources, a group of artistes were returning to Bagbuda village after performing at a cultural programme at Damanisahi located on Odisha-Jharkhand border. On the way, the tractor driver lost control over the wheels and the vehicle fell 15 feet below the road and overturned.

The deceased include three males and a minor boy. Their identity is yet to be ascertained.

On being informed, firefighters, police and ambulance reached the spot and rushed the injured to Sirsa Community Health Centre. Later, the victims were shifted to Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College and Hospital at Baripada.
