Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police sealed as many as four bars for allegedly violating Covid-19 guidelines at the Capital City on Saturday.

During the raid, 72 customers were fined around Rs 28,000 for infringing Covid-19 norms set by the Government of Odisha.

After getting complains, Commissionerate Police raided a number of bars including 10 in Baragada, Balianta and Laxmisagar areas and six bars in Kharavela Nagar and Capital Police Station areas and found customers flouting Covid 19 norms. They were neither wearing masks nor maintaining social distancing.

Earlier on October 19, The Twin City Commissionerate Police had sealed a bar on Infocity Road for hosting a birthday party flouting social distancing norms and other Covid-19 protocols.

The bar owner had also been served a notice in this regard.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of Commissionerate Police had conducted a surprise raid on the bar and found a huge gathering partying and dining there. The party attendees were also found violating social distancing guidelines and many were also seen without masks.
