Rayagada/Bolangir: At least one person was killed while nine others got critically inured after the bus they were traveling in overturned near Bethiapada area under Bisam Katak police limits in Rayagada district on Saturday.
The injured passengers have been admitted to Rayagada hospital. As per reports, the bus was en-route to Jeypore from Cuttack when it met with the accident today.
"All the passengers in the bus have sustained injuries. The driver of the bus might have felt asleep at the wheel resulting in the accident. Around 25 persons are currently undergoing treatment at the hospital," said an injured passenger.
At around 5 AM today, 10 injured passengers were brought to the hospital of which one had already succumbed to the injuries. The condition of all the passengers is stable now, informed a doctor at the hospital.
In another road mishap in Bolangir district, a bus turned turtle on Titlagarh road near Ratakhandi injuring five passengers.
They have been admitted to Santha Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital in the district.
The bus was reportedly on the way to Bhubaneswar from Sunabeda carrying 40 passengers.
