Bhubaneswar: Continuing to extend his helping hand in rescue and repatriation of Odisha people stranded abroad, former Kendrapara MP Baijayant ‘Jay’ Panda today wrote to the Indian Ambassador in Kuwait seeking his intervention in tracing an Odisha youth, who reportedly went missing in the country on January 11.
In a letter to K Jeeva Sagar, Ambassador of India in Kuwait, Panda sought cooperation in locating the youth from Niali in Cuttack district, Papina Lenka (24), who had gone to Kuwait from Mumbai on December 17 last year.
According to the family members, Papina went missing while he was on his way to his company NSH Nasser S. Al-Hajri & Partner Co on a bus on January 11. He was working as a pipe fitter in the private company.
After getting information that Papina did not turn up for work and also did not return to his quarters, his mother subsequently lodged a police complaint at Niali Police Station.
Later, the family members sought intervention of former Kendrapara MP, who today wrote to the Indian Ambassador in Kuwait to take appropriate steps to locate the whereabouts of Papina.
