Odia labourer dies in Hyderabad; kin allege murder

Bolangir: A migrant labourer from Odisha died under mysterious circumstances in Hyderabad. The deceased, has been identified as Bhajan Kata of Lathakenda village under Belpada police limits in Bolangir district.

Bhajan had reportedly migrated to Hyderabad last month and died there two days back. His body reached the village in Bolangir on Saturday. Bhajan is survived by his wife, mother and two children.

“My son went to Hyderabad last month to work at a brick kiln. We suspected that someone killed him there,” said Sundarika Kata, mother of deceased labourer.

After the death of Bhajan, the middleman who took him outside the State has not provided any financial assistance, alleged family members.

The district administration officials could not be contacted over the allegations.
