Odia girl wins 'Miss Teen Universe' title

Bhubaneswar: Bringing laurels to her State, Bhubaneswar-based girl Lavanya Das has won the 'Miss Teen Universe' title during the Miss and Mister Tourism Ambassador Universe competition held in Malaysia on Monday.

She successfully cleared the talent, national, costume and sports rounds of the competition and emerged winner among 35 participants from 25 countries across the globe.

"I have promoted the rich culture of the country and the State during the competition. I am extremely happy with the win of the title," said Lavanya while giving credit to her parents, teachers and friends for her success.

A student of Unit 8, DAV, Bhubaneswar, Lavanya is a professional model and has been inclined towards the world of fashion since she was a child.

She was the winner in last year’s Pre-teen Junior Model International beauty pageant in Kerala when she left behind 60 participants of 22 countries to claim the covetous award.
