No Vaccination During Weekend Shutdown In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The vaccination drive against Covid-19 will remain suspended on weekend shutdown enforced in all urban areas of 10 districts in Odisha, the State Health Department said on Friday.

Weekend shutdown on Saturday and Sunday has been imposed in all urban areas of Sundergarh, Jharsuguda. Sambalpur, Bargarh, Bolangir Nuapada, Kalahandi. Nabarangpur, Koraput and Malkangiri district with effective from April 17 to contain the spread of Covid-19.

“You are requested to cancel COVID-19 vaccination in all urban areas during weekends (Saturday and Sunday) in your districts till further order,” Additional Chief Secretary of Health department Pradipta Mohapatra wrote to Collectors, CDMs and PHOs of 10 districts.

“However, the vaccination drive should continue uninterruptedly in other areas of the district following the guidelines,” he added.
