The animal, which used to entertain people in tourists places and fairs, was abandoned to his fate. Due to old age and ailing condition it was unable to move and was lying near the CDA office in a helpless condition.

Some members of a local animal welfare trust named ‘Speak For Animal’ rescued the animal and made arrangements for its treatment.

However the locals have no clue about the owner of the camel. They suspect that the camel might have been abandoned by its owner, who failed to provide food or arrange money for its treatment during the lockdown.

“Due to ban on travelling and gathering at public places in the wake of Covid-19 pandemic and lockdown, livelihood of the camel’s owner might have been paralysed. That is why the owner fled, leaving the animal to its fate,” said a local denizen.
