"Only written tests and skill tests will now be conducted for the recruitment of Group C posts. It will help timely completion of the recruitment process and also ensure transparency," said Tripathy adding that the new system will help the exam conducting bodies clear backlogs.

He further said that the State has taken a decision to amend the Odisha Revenue Service Recruitment Rule 2011 following which there will be a 10 per cent increase in quota for Revenue ministerial staff.

"The cadre strength in Odisha Revenue Service is 1092 of which 50 per cent post is filled through promotion and the rest through direct recruitment. Now, the promotional quota for the Revenue ministerial staff has been increased to 40 per cent from the earlier 30 per cent," he said.

In case the remaining 10 per cent (promotional) quota is not filled, the ministerial staff can be promoted as they have more experience and it will help the department, he added.
