Cuttack: In a decision which will benefit aspiring law students from Odisha, the National Law University Odisha (NLUO) today approved 25 % reservation under domicile quota.

As per an official notification, the General Council of NLUO approved the 25 percent horizontal reservation to domicile of State of Odisha across categories for admission to undergraduate and post-graduate courses.

Earlier, the State government had fixed the eligibility criteria for 25% domicile quota for Undergraduate (UG) courses at NLUO.

In a letter to NLUO vice-chancellor, secretary of Higher Education Department, Saswat Mishra had clarified that “The students who have passed 12th Class or equivalent examination from the State of Odisha shall be eligible for claiming reservation for admission under the State domicile quota.”

Following today’s decision by NLUO’s General council, candidates who have passed 12th class or equivalent examination from the State of Odisha and secured at least 60% marks (or its equivalent grade) in the said examination from any recognised College/University in the State will be eligible for admissions into various undergraduate programmes.

For the post graduate programmes, candidates, who have passed undergraduate law programmes (B.A.LL.B, B.B.LL.B, LL.B) or equivalent examination and secured at least 50 % marks (or its equivalent grade) in the State will be eligible for admissions.

The above mentioned reservation will be subjected to CLAT score.
