Balasore: Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Niranjan Patnaik will be the Chief Ministerial candidate if Congress comes to power in 2019 elections, said party’s Working President Chiranjibi Biswal today.

“The party will go to polls under the leadership of PCC president Niranjan Patnaik and he certainly will be the CM face if the party wins the polls,” said Biswal during party’s Jan Jagaran Yatra in Balasore today.

A high-level team of the Congress is touring several parts of the State under its Jan Jagaran Yatra that was kicked off from Balasore on October 3.

The yatra has been launched with an objective to reach out to people and revive party’s organizational base ahead of 2019 elections. The Congress team will meet people and party workers at the grassroots level in all the 314 blocks of the State. The party, since the past few months, is making all efforts to rejuvenate the party ahead of the next crucial polls in the State.
