Media house employee murdered in Bolangir; 3 persons detained

Bolangir: An employee of a newspaper was allegedly brutally murdered by some miscreants in Bolangir town late last night.

As per reports, the deceased, identified as Pratap Mohapatra of Jagatsinghpur was working as the Circulation Executive of 'The Samaj' newspaper. While going to office late last night, some miscreants allegedly attacked Mohapatra with sharp weapons killing him on the spot. Preliminary investigation stated the miscreants attacked him in an attempt to loot.

After receiving information, police reached the spot and recovered the body for post mortem. Besides, the police have detained three persons in connection with the incident.

"Mohapatra was quite amicable. He was killed while he was going to office from Sonepur," said one of Mohapatra's colleagues.

"Three persons have been detained in connection with the incident. Of them, involvement of two persons is established from the primary interrogation. Mainly they attacked him with an attempt to loot him," said K. Siva Subramani, Bolangir SP.
