Newborn Girl ‘Dumped’ In Crematorium Rescued In Odisha

Aska: We seem to be living in a society which usually advocates for bringing a change in the patriarchal mindset but many of us take a U-turn when it comes to implement it in true spirit.

In one such incident, a newborn girl was left to die at a crematorium in Odisha raising serious doubts over several campaigns underway to save the girl child.

As per reports, the newborn girl was stuffed inside a gunny bag and was abandoned at a crematorium in Aska town of Ganjam district.

However, the girl got a new lease of life after a woman hearing the cries of the baby rushed to the spot and rescued her. Later, the newborn was handed over to Childline officials in presence of police.
