Bhubaneswar: The Twin City Commissionerate Police (CP) today issued an advisory for the regulation of traffic for public convenience and to facilitate proper arrangements during the FIH Hockey Olympic Qualifier matches for both men's and women's hockey team scheduled to be played at Kalinga Stadium here on November 1 and November 2.

According to a notification issued by CP, the traffic restrictions will be imposed on Friday and Saturday from 3:30 pm to 9:00 pm.

In view of the two-day sporting event, vehicular traffic will not be allowed on Bidyut Marg between Shastri Nagar and Jaydev Vihar Square.

The vehicular traffic on 120 Batallion Road will be diverted at Shastri Nagar square towards Sachivalaya Marg. Similarly, vehicles coming from Kalinga Hospital side will be diverted at Jaydev Vihar Square towards Acharya Vihar.

The vehicles coming from Vani Vihar side on the service road will be diverted to the National Highway through the passage in between Acharya Vihar and Jaydev Vihar.

As per the notification, the spectators will be allowed to park their vehicles at Parking One near sliding gate E and enter Kalinga Stadium through Gate No. 3.

On the other hand, spectators coming from A.G. Colony side have to use the Foot Over Bridge for their entry and exit from the stadium.

The two-legged Qualifiers, scheduled in the iconic Kalinga Stadium will witness the World No. 5 Indian men’s team line up against World No. 22 Russia, while the World No. 9 Indian women’s team will lock horns with the United States women’s team ranked No. 13.

The winners of the Qualifiers will secure entry into the Tokyo Olympic Games scheduled to be held next year.
