Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Higher Education Department has issued guidelines to colleges to allow Plus-3 admission without original certificates.
In a letter, the department said that self-attested downloaded marksheet should be considered during the Plus-3 admission and the migration certificate is not mandatory.
During the admission, students can give an undertaking regarding the submission of marksheets later.
"Due to COVTD-19 pandemic, there is some disruption in supplying the original certificates, mark sheets, migration certificates etc to the students, passing out from CHSE(O) during 2019-20. As a result, they may fail to show the original certificates for verification at the time of admission," the letter read.
In view of the same, the government has been pleased to consider the following points:
(i) The downloaded mark sheets with self-attestation may be accepted by the Colleges/Universities with 5-Year lntegrated Courses for verification.
(ii) Colleges/Universities should not insist the students to handover the original Migration Certificates, passing from CHSE (O), other Boards, such as CBSE/ICSE etc.
(iii) Students shall submit an undertaking to the Principal/Admission-ln-Charge to show the Original Certificates and Mark Sheets within 12 days from the date of admission for 1st Selection students and 05 days for 2nd Selection students and for Migration certificates/caste certificates/OHPH certificates, one month from the date of admission, failing which, their admission shall be cancelled.
(iv) Students shall not be debarred from taking admission for want of any originaI certificates including caste/PHOH (PwD) certificates.
(v) lf any student fails to report for admission due to any reason, Parents/Guardians/any authorized person by the student may be allowed to report for admission, on behalf of the student. ln such situation, they can also give undertaking for the student.
(vi) But, if the college authority feels that the downloaded mark sheets/caste certificates/OHPH certificates as forged ones, then they may not allow them for admission.
