Keonjhar: In a bid to promote tourism, Odisha government has introduced new facilities for tourists coming to Sanaghagara waterfall in Keonjhar district. According to sources, several new facilities like boating, tribal museum, and a special game zone for children have been added.

School and Mass Education Minister Badri Narayan Patra inaugurated the new projects on Saturday. Patra informed that steps will be taken to make the place more attractive.

“It is one of the popular tourist spots in Odisha and to make this place more beautiful and secure, Odisha government is investing in developing infrastructure and new facilities," said Patra.

Keonjhar sub-collector, Somnath Pradhan informed that tourists can now avail boating facilities throughout the year as a check dam has been constructed. This will ensure availability of water for the boating facilities.

Meanwhile, tourists have expressed satisfaction over the new makeover and addition of more facilities.

“The new facilities have added beauty to the place. The gaming zone is a nice initiative especially for the kids. We are having a great time here” said a tourist Leena Mohanty.

“Earlier, there were not many facilities at Sanghagara, but now the place is well-maintained. We can know more about the tribes, their art and culture from the tribal museum” said a local Haramohan Patnaik.

On August 6, 2017, the district forest department had inaugurated an Eco Tourism centre at Anjara near Sana Ghagara waterfall. Five rest rooms with solar light facilities were set up at a cost over Rs 1 crore for the safety of tourists.
