Bhubaneswar: With less than 24 hours left for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2020, to be held tomorrow, preparations have reached the final stage to conduct the national-level entrance test while abiding by the required COVID-19 safety guidelines.

In Bhubaneswar, the examination will be conducted at 31 centres and as many as 15,000 students will be appearing the test amid the present pandemic crisis.

In view of the entrance test, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has made arrangements for the boarding of candidates and their parents at 5 engineering colleges in the State capital. Moreover, medical teams will be deployed at these boarding centres which will be sanitised as per the COVID-19 safety measure.

Public address systems will be put up outside the examination centres to spread awareness about social distancing and crowd control during the entrance test, the Commissioner had informed.

It may be recalled that last week the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) was conducted following the Central government’s decision to go ahead with the test despite oppositions from various quarters.

As many as 38,000 candidates from Odisha had appeared in the national level examination held at 26 examination centres in seven cities of the State, result of which is likely to be declared today.
