Puri: A three-member team of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) today took stock of the situation in the cyclone Fani-hit areas of Puri district.

During the second day of its three-day visit, the team visited Ganganaryanpur and Balabhadrapur villages in the district and enquired about relief and rehabilitation measures.

The NDMA team also held discussions with the Puri district administration officials including Puri Collector on a host of issues. Restoration of electricity and drinking water supply were also discussed during the meeting.

As per reports, the team is scheduled to meet the Chief Secretary and other officials on Thursday in Bhubaneswar and submit a report to the Centre thereafter.

"After getting the cyclone warning, the administration had acted swiftly and evacuated people properly. The way the evacuation was carried out by the administration in the district is commendable," said Kamal Kishore, NDMA team chairman.
