Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has constituted a task force to submit suggestions to the Centre on the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

While speaking to reporters on Friday, Saswat Mishra, the Higher Education Department secretary informed that the task force was constituted under the chairmanship of Development Commissioner some 10 days back.

Besides, six other sub-committees have also been formed. A high-level meeting of the task force and sub-committees will be held and the suggestions from the meeting will be submitted before the Centre.

The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 envisages transformational reforms in both school and higher education sectors. In July this year, the Union Government had approved the new National Education Policy (NEP) and renamed the HRD Ministry as Education Ministry.

A panel led by former Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) chief, K Kasturirangan had submitted the draft of the new NEP to the Union Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ last year.
