Narrow escape for Hirakhand Express passengers in Rayagada

Rayagada: Passengers travelling in Bhubaneswar-Jagdalpur Hirakhand Express had a narrow escape today after an alert railway employee helped avert a severe mishap near Singapur Road station in Rayagada.

According to sources, signalman Baishnav Gouda spotted a crack on the railway track near Singapur Road station and immediately alerted the authorities.

“During the arrival of the train, I sensed the track creating more sound than often and after inspection I spotted a crack on the rail track and immediately informed the Station Master not to clear the line,” the signalman said.

The senior officials arrived at the spot and after repair works the train departed towards its destination Jagdalpur after a delay of one hour, sources said.
