Narrow escape for BJP leader KV, wife Sangeeta after their car hits truck

Bolangir: Senior BJP leader and Patnagarh MLA, KV Singh Deo and his wife Sangeeta Singh Deo had a narrow escape today after their car met with an accident near Khambeswaripali on Sonepur-Bolangir road.

According to sources, KV and his wife Sangeeta were returning from Bhubaneswar to Patnagarh, when their vehicle hit an oil tanker from behind. Though the couple escaped unhurt, the car was severely damaged.

In another freak incident, one person died and as many as 35 persons sustained critical injuries after a bus they were travelling in overturned at Taptapani ghat in Ganjam district today.

As per reports, the bus was en route to Digapahandi from Chandiput when the driver of the bus lost his control over the wheels. The bus slipped off the road and fell 20 feet into a gorge.

Soon the local fire tenders and police rescued the injured persons and rushed them to Digapahandi hospital.

Meanwhile in Cuttack, one person was killed while eight others were injured after a Tata Safari hit an auto-rickshaw near Chandapur on Cuttack-Paradip road. All the injured were rushed to hospital in critical condition.
