Bhubaneswar: After stirring the hornet's nests by alleging a secret deal between Congress and the BJD, Krushna Chandra Sagaria, the senior Congress leader who recently resigned as MLA, added fuel to fire by levelling serious charges against party leader Narasingha Mishra.
During OTV’s ‘Khola Katha’ programme, Sagaria alleged that when the entire Congress was fighting for the Kunduli girl, who was gang raped and later committed suicide, the leader of the Opposition and senior party leader Narasingha Mishra stayed away and maintained his distance.
“The Kunduli victim was admitted to Koraput hospital for 18 days and we had also organised a padyatra for 47 kms from the girl’s village to Koraput. But the leader of opposition did not turn up. We had hoped that he (Narasingha Mishra) will take up the issue in Odisha Assembly. But he did not uttered a single word which shows that there was some nexus,” said Sagaria.
Sagaria further stated that the formula of prostrating before the Odisha CM was given by Mishra to some of our party MLAs.
“Our agitation for SC and ST issues was derailed after MLAs prostrated before the CM. At that time, I had failed to understand the idea given by Mishra,” said the Congress leader.
Sagaria also took a dig at Opposition party chief whip Tara Prasad Bahinipati for moving a breach of privilege motion against OTV for its coverage on Odisha Assembly speaker.
Citing the example when an MLA’s viral video was shown by media, investigation was ordered against the MLA instead of the media house. But in OTV’s case, inquiry should be ordered against the MLA, but surprisingly a privilege motion was brought against the channel.
When asked about the allegations levelled by Sagaria, Narasingha Mishra evaded the media.
