Caught On Cam: Businessman Looted Of Rs 2.5 Lakh In Nabarangpur; Watch Video

Nabarangpur: In a broad-day light heist, miscreants looted lakhs of rupees from a businessman in Umerkote area in Nabarangpur district.

The incident took place at 12 noon on Monday. The loot scene has been recorded on a CCTV camera.

Police sources said Sanjay Kumar Tripathy, a shopkeeper at Gulipatana had come to Umerkote to buy grocery items.

"He withdrew Rs 2.5 lakh from nearest branch of Andhra bank and went to a nearby shop after keeping cash containing bag on the his bike. On return, he found that the bag was looted," Umerkote Sub-divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Hemant Kumar Padhi said.

The miscreants got the opportunity to loot the cash as he left it on his bike, he added.

"We have examined the CCTV camera which captured the entire scene. A case has been registered following a complaint filed by Tripathy. We are investigating the case and the accused will be arrested soon," the SDPO added.
