Nabarangpur: Young Woman Performs Rigorous Meditation In Deep Forest In Quest Of God

Nabarangpur: At a time when everyone is running after material pursuits, it may sound a bit strange that a young lady is performing austerity and meditation in quest of God in a deep forest of Podagada area under Umerkote block in Nabarangpur district.

The woman identified as Nirabati from Dhamanaguda village is doing rigorous sadhna near a hill in seclusion since last one week.

According to reports, she is neither taking any food nor talking to anyone. People of the area have thronged the place to get a glimpse of her penance.

The young lady has reportedly taken some herbs from one Gobinda Bhatta of Sanabharandi village after falling ill. Later, she considered Gobinda as her foster father after getting cured.

However after the incident, Nirabati got a spiritual prompting inside her and decided to perform the sadhna.

“Nirabati started meditating after Navaratri celebration. We discouraged her not to risk her life by doing her sadhna for so long in the deep forest. But she has full faith on God and the power of her surrender,” said Gobinda.
