Mysterious death of 12 goats triggers panic in Sonepur

Sonepur: As many as 12 goats died under mysterious circumstances at Dunguripali village in the district today triggering panic among the villagers.

As many as eight goats died yesterday while the unknown disease claimed four lives of goats today. All the goats belong to one Dandasena Cheli, a resident of the village.

Dandasena, who earns his livelihood from the goat farming, alleged that his animals died due to negligence on part of officials of veterinary hospital.

"Eight goats died yesterday and more four goats fell prey to unknown disease today. I visited the veterinary hospital and alerted the staff in this regard, but they didn't pay any attention, " said Dandasena.

Meanwhile, the local villagers are demand immediate deployment of a medical team comprising veterinary experts to conduct investigation into the matter.
