Malkangiri: Police today recovered the mutilated body of a baby girl from inside the premises of Malkangiri District Headquarters Hospital.

Reportedly, a few hospital staff spotted the body of the infant near Aahar Centre of the DHH this morning and immediately informed the police.
Though the exact cause of the death of the newborn is yet to be ascertained, preliminary investigation revealed that the infant might have been eaten by some stray animals as one of her legs was missing and she had grievous injuries on other parts of the body.

Police is suspecting someone might have dumped the baby near the hospital. Further investigation is underway.
