Reena is the perfect example of how strong determination leads a person to success. She credits her family members for extending unconditional support to her in this journey.

“I was trying for a government job and inclined towards the defence service. I took care of my children and protected them as a mother, and now I will devote my life to protect the sovereignty and security of my country at the border,” said an elated Reena.

Siba Prasad Pradhan, trainer at the defence academy said, “She (Reena) has a six-year-old daughter. She did a lot of hard work to strike a balance between her family life and securing the job. She is a huge inspiration for all women in our country and especially to those who fail to see beyond the odds in their lives.”

Reena said family is the biggest source of inspiration for her. Her father-in-law Labani Nayak is a retired army personnel.

After noticing the determination, Nayak had encouraged Reeena to pursue dreams of joining the military service and dedicate her life to the nation.

“It is a matter of great joy that my daughter-in-law has succeeded to get selected for BSF after lot of hard work. She used to complete all household chorus before focusing on her studies. We are feeling very proud for her," he said.

Reena’s husband Kiran Kumar Nayak said, “She got selected for BSF even after religiously completing all household chores. I had a dream to join the army and she has fulfilled my wish. Therefore, I am immensely happy for her.”
