Bhubaneswar: Even as the southwest monsoon withdrew from Odisha, people can hope to get some respite from the prevailing heat as a low pressure is likely to form over Bay of Bengal in the next 72 hours.

As per the latest bulletin of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the low pressure area is likely to form over south Bay of Bengal and the neighbourhood around October 8.

It is likely to become more marked and move towards Odisha and adjoining north Andhra Pradesh coast during the subsequent 72 hours, said MeT office sources.

"Enhanced rainfall activity is likely from October 10," the IMD said adding that the situation is under close watch.
