Mob Thrashes Girl, 3 Youths On Sex Racket Suspicion in Bolangir

Bolangir: Residents of Burobhadi village under Puintala police limits in the district on Tuesday night thrashed a girl and three other youths suspecting them of running a sex racket in the area.

According to reports, the girl and other youths were staying together in the village in a rented house for quite some time. The villagers suspected that a sex racket was being operated in the house and had informed about the same to Puintala police. However, cops had not taken any action regarding the matter.

After police inaction despite repeated pleas, the villagers decided to take law into their hand and dragged all four of them from their house last night. Later they tied them to an electric pole and thrashed them brutally alleging their involvement in the flesh trade.

Informed, Puintala police rushed to the spot and rescued the youths and girl from the villagers. Police have detained the three youths for interrogation while the girl has been sent to the Swadhar Gruha.

According to sources, the detained youths are natives of Sonepur district while the girl belongs to Sambalpur district.
