Puri: He could barely believe as joy-filled tears rolled down his eyes. Happiness knew no bounds for one Bipra Sahu of Rourkela when he welcomed back his minor daughter on Friday almost eight years after she went missing.

According to reports, Bipra's daughter had left the house in 2012 when he scolded her for some reason.
After a frantic search for their minor daughter, Bipra and his wife had lodged a complaint at Uditnagar police station in the Steel City. However, police too failed to trace her.

Recently, some officials of the Puri Childline, however, rescued the girl after getting information about the harassment allegedly meted out to her by a local resident. The CWC officials later contacted their counterparts in Rourkela, who subsequently, informed the girl's kin.

A team of CWC officials from Rourkela went to Puri along with Bipra and some of his family members where the missing girl was handed over to her family members.

"I ran away from the house at night after my father scolded me and I had been living in Puri since then," said the girl.

Expressing his happiness after getting his missing daughter back, Bipra said, “We had left all hopes to find our daughter. But the blessings of Lord Jagannath reunited us with her after so many years."
