Puri: In a broad daylight heist, unidentified miscreants looted a two-wheeler and other belongings including cash from a woman in Annasara area in Konark here today. The woman, whose identity is yet to be established, reportedly works at a private bank.

Sources said three miscreants came on a speeding vehicle and intercepted the woman near Annasara when she was on way to her workplace. Before she could raise an alarm, one of the miscreants pointed a weapon at her threatening to kill her.

The miscreants then snatched her bag containing Rs 15000 cash, mobile phone and a laptop and fled the scene with her two-wheeler.

A complaint has been lodged in this regard. However, no comments could be obtained from police officials in this connection.

In another incident, two bike-borne miscreants allegedly looted Rs 1 lakh cash from a retired teacher in Karanjia of Mayurbhanj district when he was returning on a motorcycle after withdrawing money from a bank.

A day before, Badambadi Police in Cuttack busted a bike-lifting racket by arresting five members of the gang and recovered 22 stolen motorcycles that were stolen by the criminal gang from different parts of the city.
