Miscreants Break Into Shop, Loot Cash In High-Security Zone In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Throwing a challenge to the Commissionerate Police, miscreants broke into and looted cash from a showroom in the High Security Zone of Bhubaneswar on Friday night.

A group of miscreants reportedly broke into M/s Suryansh Sales, a marble showroom, situated in Saubhgyanagar in the Airport area by cutting through the metal roofing.

The miscreants have reportedly decamped with Rs 27,000 cash, though no items inside the shop have been stolen. Surprisingly, circumstantial evidence suggest that the miscreants had food and alcohol inside the showroom before decamping with the hard disk of the CCTV cameras installed in the shop.

"I came to know about the loot only when I reached here at around 8.30 AM today. They (robbers) have looted Rs 27,000 from the cash drawer. The hard disk of the CCTV cameras is also missing. The miscreants would not have dared if police conducted regular patrolling," said the owner of the showroom.

Meanwhile, Commissionerate Police has initiated an investigation into the matter, but is yet to get any lead in the case.
