Keonjhar: A minor boy from Badudighera village under Gayalamunda panchayat in Keonjhar district was allegedly sold by his aunt. The matter came to the fore after the father of the child lodged a police complaint at Anandpur Police Station today. As per the allegations; the woman, identified as Rebati Digi had taken the minor boy, who was her nephew in relation, from home on the pretext of getting him admitted in an ashram school.

“When I asked Rebati about my son, she started quarrelling with me. The woman might have sold my son to someone,” alleged Suren Digi, father of the missing child.

He further said that as Rebati works as an Anganwadi worker, he left his son with her without suspecting any foul play.

Meanwhile, Anandpur Police has begun investigation into the matter after Suren filed a written complaint.

“The sister-in-law of the complainant had taken three children to an ashram school. Though two of them have come back, the complainant’s son has not returned home. After an inquiry we will be able to establish other details,” said Gagan Biswal, Anandpur IIC.
