Met Forecasts Heavy Rain In South Interior Districts In Next 24 Hours

Bhubaneswar: The south interior districts of the State are likely to experience heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours under the influence of a monsoon trough line, forecasts the Regional Meteorological Centre here today.

“A monsoon trough line extending from east Uttar Pradesh to north Tamil Nadu through Odisha is likely to trigger heavy rain in the south interior districts such as Rayagada, Bolangir, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Koraput, Malkangiri and Nabarangpur districts in the next 24 hours” said Ajay Kumar Naik, duty officer of the meteorological centre.

The weather department has also issued lightning and thunderstorm warning for Bolangir, Sonepur, Boudh, Keonjhar, Balasore, Cuttack, Khurda and Jajpur districts.
