Bhubaneswar: With just a month left for the much-awaited Men's Hockey World Cup scheduled to be played in Bhubaneswar from November 28, DGP RP Sharma reviewed security arrangements at the Kalinga Stadium today.

According to sources, Sharma along with officials of the Odisha Sports department visited the stadium and took stock of various security arrangements.

Reportedly the capacity of the stadium has been increased from 12,000 to 15,000 for the opening ceremony as huge footfall is expected for the event.

“Steps would be taken for smooth crowd regulation in the four different stands. Our main thrust will be providing security to various teams and officials,” said DGP, RP Sharma.

Sharma further informed that police is aiming to deploy more number of personnel in civil uniform.

Other security aspects including like traffic and parking arrangements were also reviewed.

Sources said in view of the huge turnout, LCD screens will also be installed outside the stadium.
