Bhubaneswar: With each passing day, it seems men and women both have mastered the art of devising unusual ways to kill a relationship. And the loyal ones eventually come up with different ways to deal with such betrayals. Three months back, a college girl staged dharna outside the house of a youth in Rayagada for allegedly cheating her on false promise of marriage. This time an almost similar incident has happened in the capital city where a youth stood outside a girl's house in Nayapalli area for hours protesting her marriage with another person, reason he claims her to be his legally-wedded wife.

According to the youth, both of them fell in love and had married in a court in 2013 but due to reasons unknown, the girl was staying with her family in Nayapalli.

On Wednesday, the youth was taken aback when he learnt about the Mehndi ceremony of the girl. Wasting no time, he rushed to her house with some court-related documents and their photo albums which according to him is a proof that they are already married. The pictures which surfaced also gives an impression that both of them have been very close.

But when he created a ruckus outside the girl's house for hours and refused to budge off, the family members reportedly informed police about the incident. The police reached the spot and took him along to police station. Though police persuaded him at the station and later released him, the youth again went to the girl's home to bring her back.

While the agitating youth is still obstinate that she happens to be his wife, the accused girl or her family members could not be contacted over the matter.

Speaking to mediapersons, the youth said, “I am in a relationship with the girl for the last 11 years or so. Seven years back, we got married in the Angul marriage registrar’s office in front of witnesses. After the legal marriage, we also got married in a temple. However, she snapped contact with me three months back. Now I learnt that her marriage is fixed somewhere else.”

Asked about his motive behind such protest, the youth said, “As she is my legally-wedded wife, I want her to stay with me.”
