Bhubaneswar: As soon as Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the world’s largest Covid-19 vaccination drive across India at 10.30 am via video conference on Saturday, Odisha government too began its inoculation programme at 161 sites spread across 30 districts in the State.

A total of 16,100 healthcare workers would receive the Covid-19 vaccine shot today, the first day of the vaccination drive.

Ganjam: Dr Sunil Kota became the first person to receive Covid-19 vaccine dose at the City Hospital in Berhampur of Ganjam district in presence of the district Collector Vijay Amrute Kulange.

"I am feeling absolutely fine after receiving the Covid-19 vaccine. I will appeal all to take the vaccine, whenever their turn comes," said Dr Kota after getting the shot.
