Meet The Covid Warriors Of Odisha Who Received The First Shot Of Vaccine Today (IN PICS)
Bhubaneswar: As soon as Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the world’s largest Covid-19 vaccination drive across India at 10.30 am via video conference on Saturday, Odisha government too began its inoculation programme at 161 sites spread across 30 districts in the State.
A total of 16,100 healthcare workers would receive the Covid-19 vaccine shot today, the first day of the vaccination drive.

Bhubaneswar: Biranchi Nayak, a class IV sanitation worker at the Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar took the first jab of the vaccination who was followed by Laxmidhar Sahoo, the director of the hospital.
Similarly, former AIIMS Director and Vice Chancellor of SOA University, Dr Ashok Mohapatra received the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine at SUM hospital in the capital city.
Cuttack: Barsha Dei, a sanitation worker engaged at the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack received the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine after the inoculation was launched by PM Modi today.
Sundargarh: Deepak Nag, a sanitation worker became the first person to receive the first jab of Covid-19 vaccine at Sundargarh District Headquarters Hospital (DHH).
Ganjam: Dr Sunil Kota became the first person to receive Covid-19 vaccine dose at the City Hospital in Berhampur of Ganjam district in presence of the district Collector Vijay Amrute Kulange.
“I am feeling absolutely fine after receiving the Covid-19 vaccine. I will appeal all to take the vaccine, whenever their turn comes,” said Dr Kota after getting the shot.
Sambalpur: A class IV staff of Sambalpur DHH, Prahlad Suna, became the first to get the Covid-19 vaccine at the facility.
Nuapada: The Covid-19 vaccination programme was inaugurated at Evangelical Hospital at Khariar in Nuapada district. Setting an example for everyone, the senior-most doctor of the facility, Dr. Ajit Singh, received the first shot of the vaccine.
Puri: First dose of Covishield administered to 59-year-old attendant Biswanath Mallick at Puri DHH in the presence of district collector Samarth Verma.
Kendrapara: Dr Kishore Mishra posted at Kendrapara DHH was the first person to get the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine at the facility.
Khordha: Bhagirathi Nayak, a sanitation worker engaged at the Khordha DHH received the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine after the vaccination was launched today.
