Medical College And Hospital To Come Up In Phulbani: Odisha CM

Bhubaneswar: In a bid to boost health care infrastructure, Odisha government today announced a slew measures. Based on the reports of the ‘Mo Sarkar’ team visits to six districts, Odisha today decided to set up a government medical college and hospital at Phulbani district headquarters hospital.

Announcing this, Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik said that the number of beds would be increased to 500 and soon a composite campus would be planned.

Patnaik also announced a new 200-bed district hospital in Boudh, an additional building with 100 beds in Nayagarh district hospital and a new building with 100 beds in Kalahandi district hospital.

Besides, all district hospitals will have special rest shed for attendants, Rs 15 lakh will be allotted to all Rogi Kalyan Samitis from CMRF for patient welfare and innovations, Rs 10 lakh to SPs for promotion of blood donation activities in Nuapada, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal and Boudh districts.

“Following the feedback from people, Mo Sarkar will be expanded to other five departments by December 1 and by March 5, 2020, Mo Sarkar will cover all departments of the government,” Patnaik added.
