Cuttack: Another Class 10th question paper reportedly surfaced on social media on the last day of Matriculation examinations today.
As per reports, the Social Science paper went viral on various social media platforms just minutes after the commencement of the examination.
According to sources, the SET B question paper of the subject was circulated through mobile phones in Deogaon area of Bolangir district.
Commenting on the incident, president of the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Jahan Ara Begum clarified that the question paper was not leaked since it surfaced on social media after the commencement of the examination.
Expressing grave concern over the matter, the Board president said, “It is sad to note that some teachers had taken mobile phones into the exam centre and after capturing photos of the question paper, they had posted it on social media.”
Jahan Ara also added that the Board has called for an urgent meeting of the examination committee on March 12 during which some important decisions are likely to be taken regarding the matter.
It may be noted that the Board had taken several strict rules to conduct the examination a free and fair manner, but despite strictness, question papers of Odia, English and Mathematic went viral on social media soon after the commencement of the respective examinations.
This apart, other lapses including missing of 108 OMR sheets of Mathematics paper from an exam centre in Malkangiri also raised questions on the sanctity of exam.
So far as many as 19 teachers and staff have been suspended from their service while 13 people have been put behind bars for being involved in the series of incidents.
Meanwhile, Convenor of School College Teachers and Employees United Forum Golak Nayak criticised the Board authorities and State government in connection with the matter.
“I think the Board and the government took the examination conduct process quite casually without ensuring any completeness but after such incidents now teachers are being blamed,” said Nayak.
Similarly parents of the students have also blamed the government for being unprepared in conducting the exams. Basudev Bhatta, president of a parents' association said the government’s steps are filled with loopholes due to which lapses were witnessed during the examination.
“We will urge the government to take exemplary action in connection with the matter so that students and their guardians don’t have to worry,” Bhatta said.
