Bhubaneswar: After the Odia question paper was leaked minutes after the commencement of matriculation examination on Friday, the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) has taken steps to ensure smooth conduct of English examination today.

The BSE authorities have reportedly tightened security at all the centres across the State and also directed the centre superintendents to follow the standard operating procedure (SOP) strictly.

Police personnel have also been deployed at various examination centres to ensure smooth conduct of examinations.

The students were allowed to enter the examination centres at 9. 15 am today. The OMR sheets were distributed at 9.30 am while the booklets were given at 9.45 am. The examination was scheduled to start at 10 am and conclude at 12.30 pm.

Earlier yesterday, an assistant teacher of Kankadasoda Nodal High School Centre, Ananga Kishore Sahoo was suspended by the district education officer (DEO) for allegedly providing chits to students at the centre on the first day of examination on Friday.

It may be noted that seven persons have been arrested for their alleged involvement in making the Odia question paper of Matric examination viral on social media in Dhenkanal and Nuapada districts.

As many as 5,45,364 students are appearing for the examination in 2,830 centres across the State. The exams will conclude on March 8, 2019.
