Finance minister, Sashi Bhusan Behera, BJP Vice-President, Samir Mohanty and Bhubaneswar Mayor Anant Narayan Jena were among the others who paid last respect to the martyred jawan.

Later the body of Behera was sent to the CRPF camp quarters in Bhubaneswar.

The family members of the martyred Behera have urged the government to provide adequate compensation to them and government job for his wife.

Sources said Behera's body will reach his ancestral village Nanduan in Ghasipura block of Keonjhar where the district administration will pay last tributes and then his mortals will be consigned to flames.

Behera who was posted as a head Constable in 168 battalion of CRPF was killed along with three other jawans in IED blast after coming under intense firing from heavily- armed leftist insurgents while carrying an area-domination drive from a forested patch of Murdanda village to Timapura in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district on Saturday.
