Market Building Violence: Twin City Police Books 3 Accused Under NSA

Bhubaneswar: Three persons arrested in connection with violence at Market Building area of Bhubaneswar have been charged under the National Security Act (NSA), police said on Thursday.

Accused Chandan Das, Biswanath Pradhan and Pratyush Kanhara have been charged under the law for acting in manner prejudicial to the maintenance of public order by indulging in the violent activities in the busy Market Building area.

"Detention Orders under NSA have been issued against 3 persons - Chandan Das, Biswanath Pradhan & Pratyush Kanhara to prevent them from acting in any manner prejudicial to public order," informed Commissionerate Police in a tweet.

As many as 25 persons have been arrested so far in connection with the violent incident at market building. Around 30 masked miscreants had attacked street vendors and ransacked several shops at the prominent shopping centre located in the heart of Bhubaneswar on January 10.
