Bhanjanagar: CPI(Maoist) on Saturday put up a banner near Dadaralunda village chhak in Bhanjanagar and threatened to kill two MLAs of Ganjam district.

However, there was no mention of the names of the legislators to whom the death threats have been reportedly issued by the red rebels.

The banner was found near a plaque mentioning estimates of the Pradhan Mantri Gram SadakYojana (PMGSY) at the village chhak. It also threatened police informers of dire consequences.

A state of panic has gripped the villagers after the Maoist banner was found for the first time near Daddralunda, which falls on the border area of Kandhamal and Ganjam districts.

Meanwhile, suspicion has grown over the banner claimed to be placed by Maoists as in April this year, the Odisha Police had removed six districts including Ganjam from the list of Left Wing Extremism-affected districts.

Till last report came in, police hadn't reached the spot to verify the poster to be of CPI(Maoist).
