Kandhamal: Fresh Maoist posters and banners surfaced at Kandibanda village along National Highway-59 between Daringbadi and Baliguda in Kandhamal district on Sunday. The Baghuna divisional committee of the CPI (Maoist) has urged people to boycott upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly polls in the State. The rebels have also appealed people to form a ‘government of revolutionaries’ through the posters.

The Maoists also opposed political leaders and threatened them of dire consequences, if any leader from any political party visits the region to seek votes.

Earlier on March 13, Maoist posters were also recovered from Parampanga village under Baliguda sub-division in the district in which the ultras had also urged people to boycott the upcoming general elections.

Meanwhile, security has been beefed in Maoists infested regions of the State while combing operations intensified to avoid any untoward situation.
