Bhubaneswar: Dantewada Police has arrested a Maoist for his alleged involvement in the killing of Achyutananda Sahu, Doordarshan Cameraman from Odisha. The accused Maoist has been identified as Kesha. It is pertinent to mention here that 12 cases were pending against Kesha who also had a bounty of Rs 1 lakh on his head.

Achyutananda Sahu was killed by naxals on October 30, 2018, when he along with a few other reporters of Doordarshan (DD) had gone to Dantewada in Chhattisgarh for election news coverage.

Sahu, who hailed from Ghusuramunda village under Loisingha block in Bolangir district, was shot dead by the red rebels while his colleagues had a narrow escape. Besides, two policemen were also killed in the Naxal ambush. Earlier, five Maoists involved in the incident had surrendered before police.
