Bhubaneswar: Commissionerate Police on Monday arrested two looters in connection with the robbery at Bank Of India’s Barimunda branch in Mancheswar and seized Rs 5 lakh from their possession.

According to sources, the police have formed a special task force to nab another looter, who is still at large.

Further investigation is underway. Moreover, the investigating team is investigating whether these looters have any link with the Infocity Indian Overseas Bank loot incident on September 7.

A series of loot incidents has sent alarm bells ringing in the Commissionerate Police as armed miscreants had decamped with Rs 10 lakh cash on gunpoint from Bank of India’s (BOI) Barimunda branch in Mancheswar area of Bhubaneswar in full public glare on September 28.

Similarly unidentified miscreants had looted Rs 2.78 lakh at gunpoint from the Indian Overseas Bank near Infocity area in the capital city.
